10th Aug - Hangang park

We needed a fun but relaxing day so we went to hapgang park for some swimming and relaxing. Basically a large park with outdoor pools where hundreds of people gather on days off to wind down and enjoy the weather. This place is in the city, only 5 minutes by taxi from Tina's house, just on the other side of the Han river.
Like most places in Seoul it can get incredibly busy so you need to get there early. We arrived at 9:30 (should have been earlier but I struggled to get up) and managed to get one of the last, essential parasols. Essential because the temperature got up to 37 degrees and the sun strength was incredible. I basically spent the whole day trying to keep in the shade, swam for 15 minutes at a time maximum with suncream and still managed to get a mild sunburn on my back and back of the hands.
All swimming pools in Seoul require you to wear a swimming cap to keep the water clean.
